A post that will come at a later time

I had to shut down my demo reel off of youtube since it didn't transfer the whole video correctly. I'll need to fix some mistakes as well, so tomorrow I will put it back online.

Also, I ended up getting pretty close to a woodpecker in my backyard and got decent pictures. I'm planning to go back to the Brecksville entrance of the Metroparks where I live and taking some nice nature shots down there since I forgot my camera last time and everything looks so beautiful with this amazing weather. I hadn't noticed before but there are some great patches of marsh in the trail I followed at the park. I can't wait to post some of the images I get!

Honestly my most recent sketches are more fanart related but I still think they look really nice. So I'll post them here! From Samurai Flamenco.

Good News!!

I finally have all my scenes animated!

Tomorrow I will put them together in After Effects to see how well everything flows. Also to see what I need to slow down. There are a couple of scenes I know that need fixing but the important thing is that all scenes have the animation more or less finished.

After I fix these mistakes I will then move onto line art this weekend and think more about sound and color for backgrounds!

This is the storyboard/animatic I have for my project.
The part where the screen becomes white there is a background I have not drawn in as of yet, but it will be there for the Amanita to gaze in wonderment in the final.

Aaaaand an image of the title card in progress!!
I actually really like how it looks with most of the background and color in a smaller rectangle with borders and occasional objects, such as the extended tree trunks, protruding out. Unfortunately, it doesn't make sense to use this design with my animation.

I broke down the storyboard into about 18 scenes to be animated and currently I have 15 completed with only 3 scenes left to animate.
I might need to also tweak some scenes, but I'm almost finished and will be moving onto doing line art soon.

Amanita Backgrounds

Here are a couple of line art versions of my backgrounds for the mushroom capstone animation.

Here's a background I was experimenting with color:

Animation Capstone

For my capstone and last animation of my college career, I will be making a small short to start my adventure into this world of mushroom people that has been on my mind for a while now.

This is just the start for me in figuring out this little world, as I hope to expand and improve not only the designs but the story as well. By making everything more fleshed out and enjoyable and interesting to watch.

At the moment, this short I will be making, as I said, is a stepping stone into this idea and the story is more centered around the main mushroom lady, Amanita Virosa and her sort of 'waking up' and experiencing the world and how she affects it for the first time. Amanita Virosa is the scientific name for a poisonous mushroom that is more commonly known as the "Death Angel". They grow independently from one another in lonely areas next to trees and resemble the mushroom Agaricus Campestris, a common meadow mushroom. They are often confused when field hunters go to pick these mushrooms. This results in a slow painful death caused by the consumption of a Death Angel.

I used the descriptions given to these various mushrooms such as their living space, color, and sometimes their described relations with other plants to create these characters and their color pattern.

Here are the character designs:

I haven't yet completed a character sheet for the poisonous mushroom gang, but here are some sketches:
