Another job in our group animation project I had to do part of the background. I was put in charge with the far back! I'm still working on coloring and making finished backgrounds on photoshop so this is a sort of starting point on working towards an improvement in photoshop skills.

 Just thought I'd stop by and drop off a couple things sitting in my flash drive. Here are some photoshop sketches I did. The pencil tool can be really fun it you use it like a pen to paper. I just love using lines as shading!

 Here's a creature I made for my next animation project. It's going to be a rigged character that had to be a mix between mechanical and organic. Our group chose a sort of swamp environment with a voodo type of theme mixed in so I took the idea of pins and needles mounted on his back. He can climb up trees by setting his glasses upon his head and then reach for the needles and throw them up to stick into the tree and climb up through the string that's attached.

I was also working on redoing my mushroom girl expressions on the side since the old one wasn't as expressive.

First finished illustration of the semester! It was based on the metaphor "Her eyes were fireflies"

Actually have little time to fool around today with 2 tests tomorrow ehehe so I just made this quick thing in class
(ummm i thought this was posted but apparently it was a draft? oh well)
While I'm here I guess I'll post a penciled sketchbook cover and a page wrapping up my weekend for now

 

I think my weak points are color, backgrounds, and photoshop.
So to attack this problem I'm going to try to draw a background or basically just screw around in photoshop everyday.

Here's my jump cycle for my mushroom girl for intermediate animation!
It goes a little fast and the jump could use more frames in it but overall I'm proud of how it turned out!

HELLO!
I realized I have neglected this poor blog of mine and will here on out resolve to post at least once a week.
This will pertain to my art projects, sketches, and overall things I find enjoyable and fascinating that might tie into my work.
So! Here's a background I am using for my current animation jump cycle project.

It's been a while since I've done animation so I got a little overzealous with everything. heh
I will post the outcome of the animation later this week in it's completion.
